Staff Accountant
Credit Key’s mission is to deliver a superior business payment experience at B2B point-of-purchase. Our core product allows B2B merchants to offer buy-now-pay-later financing at ecommerce checkout.
About the Role
Credit Key is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our expanding team. This is a ‘hands-on’ administrative role with the ability to help improve and refine processes and procedures. This person will be reporting directly to our Accounting Manager and will also work cross functionally with various teams. The right person will be an avid learner with a desire to develop and grow within a scaling, dynamic tech company.
What you'll do
- Set up, maintain, and process vendor invoices, and manage accounts payable
- Perform daily reconciliations to very bank account deposits and cash disbursements
- Reconcile accounts such as prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and intangibles
- Review outstanding expense reports and unprocessed invoices to provide accruals
- Prepare journal entries and compile supporting documentation
- Manage revenue cycle reconciliations including revenue recognition and collections
- Assist the Accounting Manager in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Assist in year-end audit by providing external auditors with supporting documentation
- Prepare explanations for monthly flux analyses
- Assist in developing internal process improvements, including documenting processes
- Assist with ad hoc duties and special projects, as needed
Requirements
What we'll look for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience from public accounting or private industry sectors
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and general financial & managerial accounting
- Advanced Excel knowledge, and be comfortable with large data volume
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
- Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate via email to various levels within the organization
- Strong work ethic and team player
- Audit/Assurance experience a plus
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) a plus
- Hands-on experience in the financial close process a plus
- Fast-growing start-ups and/or technology/finance industry experience a plus
- Experience with QuickBooks a plus
