Higher Logic is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team, reporting directly to the Controller. We are seeking a candidate with strong knowledge of GAAP and knowledge of accounting functions from a detailed and big-picture perspective. The Staff Accountant will be heavily involved in accounts payable, month-end close and audits as well as perform bank and trial balance reconciliations, including fixed assets and Prepaids/Accruals.

The Staff Accountant should be a self-starter in nature. This person enjoys taking initiative, driving process improvement, and embraces teamwork. The Staff Accountant is comfortable building relationships across multiple departments to build a transparent and efficient financial process.

Responsibilities:

Full-cycle accounts payable processing, including tracking Prepaids and Accrued Expenses.

Employee expense report approval and payment processing.

Fixed asset recording and reporting.

Reconciliation of bank accounts.

Ensure accuracy of key financial systems (Sage Intacct).

Assistance with sales tax reporting when necessary.

Assist with month-end close, including booking journal entries.

Maintain general ledger and trial balance reconciliation schedules.

Assist with various audit requests and tax filing requests.

Qualifications

Must have an Accounting degree and at least 1-2+ years of experience.

Experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures preferred.

ERP experience preferred, either Intacct or NetSuite.

Experience with Accounts Payable preferred.

Experience with Sales Tax / CIT preferred

CPA certification is a plus.

Public accounting experience a plus.

Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Strong excel skills (vlookup, pivot, etc).

Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.

Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Remote based role, have to be able to communicate effectively via Teams and Zoom.
