Staff Accountant
Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
This role will be working from home permanently and during the U.S.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling accounting tasks for two separate entities
- Process and reconcile accounts payable, expense reports, and credit card transactions weekly.
- Generating journal entries, and categorizing expenses
- Investigating and rectifying discrepancies in accounts
- Conducting reconciliations and maintaining balance in general ledger accounts
- Assisting in the monthly closing process
- Organizing and managing documentation files such as invoices, W-9s, and contracts
- Ensuring adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Assisting with audits and internal financial reviews.
- Assisting in managing Accounts Payable and Credit Card integrations and ensuring data synchronization
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.
- Monitor financial transactions and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Providing ad hoc reports and conducting analysis as needed
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must haves
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. accounting positions.
- Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Capability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
Nice to haves
- Familiarity with startup environments.
- Proficiency in Netsuite, QBO, Intacct, CCH SureTax, and Microsoft Excel.
- Possession of a CPA or equivalent relevant accounting certification.
