POSITION SUMMARY:
As Swing Education’s Staff Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in achieving the finance organization's goals by ensuring the accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of accounting transactions, supporting annual financial audits, complying with tax and other requirements, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, detail oriented, passionate team player who can thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing and growing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Record financial transactions timely and accurately in the general ledger.
- Reconcile accounts.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Review and process accounts payable invoices.
- General customer & vendor management & support as needed.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Analyze budget variances and provide explanations.
- Audit Support:
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules.
- Compliance:
- Support the accounting team in ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting rules and regulations.
- Taxation:
- Assist in providing the external tax firm with information required for the preparation of tax returns.
- Provide information and documentation for tax audits.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior startup experience strongly preferred. Bonus points if it was at a data-intensive startup and/or a tech-enabled services marketplace startup
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Happiness in Excel or GSheets
- Experience in QuickBooks Online, Zuora, or Ramp is a plus.

COMPENSATION:
