Job Title: Staff Accountant
Direct Manager: Senior Staff Accountant
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in various financial and accounting tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to accuracy. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update the general ledger by recording transactions, adjustments, and journal entries.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Accounts Receivable: Follow up on overdue payments. Reconcile customer accounts regularly.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems. Maintain organized and well-documented financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA or ACCA) is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
