Role Summary

Do you have a passion for building software that makes a difference? Do you want to be part of a founding team focused on building innovative Splunk solutions for value & use case selling, and build something from the ground up?

Splunk’s Portfolio Field Solutions team is looking for a senior application developer to build innovative solutions to automate our customer’s understanding of the use cases that they have deployed, how well they have adopted those use cases, and enable customers to discover new use cases. You will get to work with a passionate bunch of folks doing state of the art automation development using Splunk as well as other industry standard languages such as Python and RESTful APIs. You will be collaborating with product management and customers to understand detailed requirements. You will also work with other engineering teams across Splunk to design and build high-performance solutions with a unified experience.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 8+ years of meaningful industry experience
  • Proficient in Splunk SPL, building Splunk Apps, and Python
  • Experience making architectural decisions for a development team, providing sound technical direction, and communicating effectively
  • Experience using or building RESTful APIs
  • Experience collaborating with product, design and multi-functional engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions
  • Creative problem solver with phenomenal attention to detail
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to create documentation and videos to guide users through the migration experience
  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly and understand a wide variety of technical challenges to be solved
  • Strong CS fundamentals
  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proficiency with the REACT framework
  • You are familiar with writing and debugging code across all popular platforms & browsers
  • Experience using CSS & HTML to produce interfaces from design mock-ups
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks
  • Full stack development capabilities
