About the Position

Contrast is looking for a highly technical front-end engineer who wants to be a full-stack developer. You are enthusiastic and proficient in CSS, Typescript, web development, and ReactJS and are interested in pursuing a life-changing experience in application security and continuous delivery. We are a dynamic team that is growing leaps and bounds each month. This person should take a holistic view of our application architecture with sincere attention to quality, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

This team has the unique opportunity to build our strategic report and dashboard capabilities to showcase the runtime analysis of the customer’s security posture. This includes providing enhanced techniques to improve code analysis accuracy, findings, and reporting. It will also include driving and leading the next generation of products and offerings to make the Contrast platform the choice for code analysis tools among developers and security professionals.

Ideal candidates have a background in building highly scalable and responsive single-page applications (SPAs) using ReactJS, CSS, and visualization libraries like Recharts.

This position is US-based within the Central or Eastern Time Zones.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UX, Product, and Engineering to architect elegant APIs, Data Models, and reusable JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Provide overarching design of testability and acceptance
  • Define and direct the team in the area of Performance, Scalability, and Security
  • Design and development of a rich user interface for mission-critical high-availability analytics applications using front-end technologies, including TypeScript, ReactJS, Javascript, ES6, HTML, CSS
  • Help manage and improve React components within a company-wide design system
  • Execute performance analysis and optimization of page render, data transfers, and page load optimizations
  • Proficient in designing highly tuned and efficient automated build pipelines
  • Participate in constant collaboration with teammates in the form of pair programming, group code reviews, and pull requests before commit
  • Work with design and product teams to build unique, jaw-dropping features
  • Give back to the Open Source Community whenever humanly possible
  • Deploys: our engineers deploy multiple times a day to our AWS infrastructure
  • Technical support: Our engineers don't just release code in the wild. When our customers have issues, we have to jump in and give them help and participate in on-call rotations

Qualifications

  • You have at least ten years of experience architecting modern, scalable, and high-performing front-end web applications in Enterprise or Commercial Software development
  • You have strong communication skills. You ask questions, let others know when you need help, and tell others what you need
  • You are a master of Typescript 
  • You enjoy building React functional components with reusable hooksYou use Storybook to share common components in a design system
  • You are comfortable working with REST APIs, preferably with react-query
  • You have extensive HTML5 and CSS3 experience, preferably with CSS-in-JS libraries like emotion/CSSYou have an eye for quality and use tools/frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Prettier, JUnit, etc.
  • You have experience working in Java/Spring or Python/Flask to design and implement robust and scalable APIs 
  • You have experience using at least one AWS Service: S3, EC2, CloudFront, Lambda
  • You're a problem solver. You believe the best work is the result of finding the simplest solution to complex challenges
  • Your code is clean, your designs are elegant, and you are constantly refactoring
  • You own your work. Whether a nasty bug or an awesome feature, you put your name on every line of code

What We Offer

Salary and Other Compensation

This position's standard base pay range is $140,000 - $185,000 annually. This position is also eligible for an equity package subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider several factors: geography, skill set, experience, job scope, and current market data.
