Staff Product Designer, Platform
Who is Boulevard?
Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.
Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.
We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.
Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.
Come do the best work of your life at Boulevard.
At Boulevard, we understand how important it is for different systems to work well together in today's businesses. Our Platform team is key to making this happen. They work on API and integrations, and help new customers get started. As our company expands, we're seeking an experienced Staff Designer to design a smooth and user-friendly process for our customers to easily transfer their data onto our platform.
In the Platform team, your expertise as a Staff Designer will be critical in supporting two interconnected product areas: API and integrations, and customer onboarding. You'll be the creative force in ensuring that our platform not only seamlessly integrates with various external systems, including accounting, payroll, and industry-specific applications but also provides a streamlined and intuitive onboarding process for businesses transitioning to Boulevard.
Currently, we are at a fun stage - big enough to provide you with a great deal of stability and an incredible work environment, but small enough that you can still have a huge direct impact on both our customers and our teams. As a part of a small design team you can shape design system, culture, norms, and expectations.
What you’ll do here:
- Work with Product and Engineer leads to define a strategy, establish clear success metrics and tie efforts to delivering strategic outcomes.
- Design customer onboarding experience that makes joining Boulevard smooth and easy.
- Design intuitive system integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity and user interaction with various software systems within the Boulevard ecosystem.
- Own the design process end-to-end: from requirements, research, and design, to testing and guiding implementation.
- Transform complex problems into easy to understand user interfaces that deliver a delightful experience.
- Work with other designers to expand our design system and raise the quality bar for our product and industry.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within a dynamic and growing design team.
What you’ll need to thrive:
- Oversight and Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in managing and delegating within large projects or multiple areas, maintaining design cohesion and quality.
- Expert Stakeholder Manager: Skilled at engaging and aligning senior stakeholders, including executives, to harmonize complex relationships with the product vision.
- Proven experience in product design, particularly in a B2B or SaaS environment.
- Deep knowledge of the end-to-end iterative design process, including research, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visual design.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering.
- A knack for balancing exceptional design with practical, timely delivery.
- Comfort in navigating the ambiguity and rapid changes of a startup environment.
- Proficiency in modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma.
Your starting budgeted cash compensation for this role is between $152,000 and $218,000 USD, depending on your current skills, experience, training, and overall market demands. This salary range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.
In addition to the wonderful people you’ll get to work with and challenging projects that’ll push you - Boulevard is here to make sure you’re always at the top of your game emotionally, mentally, and physically.
- ✨ We’ve got you covered with a 401(k) match plus dental, medical, vision, and life insurance.
- 🏝 Take a break whenever you need with our flexible vacation day policy.
- 🖥 Fully remote so you can choose where you want to work. You’ll receive a work from home stipend every month.
- 💚 Family planning resources and specialized support programs.
