About the role 

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Tech Lead Engineer with strong knowledge of Vue or similar front-end technologies to join our team. Ruby on Rails experience is ideal, but experience with similar backend technologies is fine. As a key member of one of the Qualified Team, you will be responsible for mentoring the development team ensuring the adoption of best practices, promoting teamwork, and delivering on time with the expected quality and performance. The expectation of this role is developing new features and maintaining and scaling the existing application that is directly connected with the core product of the company by ensuring product quality and encouraging the technical level of the development team.

Your primary focus will be on the functionality, performance, and security of the front and back-end applications. You will work independently and in constant collaboration with cross-functional teams to take our team, product, and company to success. This includes taking ownership, participating in code reviews, spreading the knowledge, and encouraging our team members to follow best practices ensuring high-quality results in a fast-paced and interactive environment.  You will be able to learn, experiment, and innovate on the developments assigned to you.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design robust, scalable, and maintainable frontend systems using Vue and backend systems using Ruby on Rails.
  • Be the right hand for the Engineering Manager and work together for achieving the team and business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including full stack developers, product managers, and designers, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new features, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. Lead, participate and mentor the code reviews cycle to ensure code quality, consistency, and compliance with coding standards.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability to support a growing user base.
  • Conduct thorough application testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to facilitate seamless integration with third-party services and applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in web development trends, incorporating relevant technologies and methodologies into the development process. Identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing automation and efficiency measures where applicable.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in NodeJs, Vue, React or any similar front-end technology
  • Nice to have: knowledge in Ruby on Rails version 4 onwards 
  • Knowledge in MongoDB
  • Knowledge of CSS, ReactJS and Angular frameworks is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving growth and executing big impactful projects
  • Solid understanding of APIs, both consuming and integrating, along with the ability to quickly learn and utilize new APIs.
  • Self-directed and proactive mindset with a track record of independently delivering high-quality solutions and results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Comfortable with working in asynchronous environments.
