Staff Writer (Gaming & Entertainment)
Twinfinite, the destination for upbeat video game guides, news, features, quizzes, and reviews, is seeking an experienced Staff Writer to join our ever-expanding team. Ideal candidates will have experience producing gameplay guides for new releases and live service games, SEO/Top 10 lists, traffic-driving features, reviews, and breaking news on select titles, companies, and gaming and entertainment brands.
All applicants must have excellent English writing skills and be self-starters who can complete assigned posts in a timely manner without extensive edits and supervision. Ideal candidates will have between 2-4 years writing experience in the video games or adjacent industries. We require a minimum of 100 posts per month, with the expectation that the writer is able to pitch about trending and timely topics in the industry on a daily basis. We're a global, digital newsroom, and all work is remote. Staff Writers also take on additional duties such as leading 'beat' teams, updating existing content, attending staff meetings and organizing freelance writers.
Competitive applicants will have an in-depth knowledge about a wide variety of the most popular single-player and live service video games and/or entertainment IPs. They will have their finger on the pulse of the video games industry, and can dive deep into communities to find interesting news stories and angles on events not covered by other outlets. Completed works will be required to meet Twinfinite's standards and quality guidelines and require minimal edits prior to publishing. Although not required, familiarity with using Google Trends to direct coverage is a plus. A rolodex of PR contacts you can bring with you is also advantageous.
If you're an expert on any of the following and have the ability to cover them on a daily basis through news, op-eds, features, and guides, you'll go to the top of the pile.
