Lenexa, KS (Kansas City Metro).

Summary:

This hands-on role owns the Maintenance reliability activities within the area of responsibility, including leading all maintenance staff and coordinating planned, scheduled, and emergent work. It also ensures all budgets and schedules are maintained while assisting the department Manager with preparing annual operating budgets, strategies, and training requirements.

What will you do?

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; assist planning, assigning, and advising work; appraising performance; rewarding, developing, and focusing employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Champion continued efficiency improvements using metrics, TPM, 5S, and the PPI process.
  • Run small Engineering related and Mechanical Maintenance-related projects from conception to implementation.
  • During the absence of the Senior Management, perform the daily duties and lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance/Engineering Department.
  • Participate in auditing training protocols to ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and Thermo Fisher policies and laws.
  • Also, other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably electrical, mechanical, or industrial.
  • 3+ years of successful track record in a manufacturing environment in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device industry a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment. Experience with people leadership.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand and work at a desk for extended periods. Occasionally ladder is used to gain roof access.
  • Knowledge of CMMS.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices. Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite and mechanical and technical skills
