Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking individual to join their team in revolutionizing the accessibility of life insurance for the middle market. Through innovative approaches to product design and distribution, encompassing call center and web-enabled sales, streamlined underwriting processes, rapid policy issuance, and a focus on non-medically underwritten products, our company is dedicated to making life insurance more affordable and attainable for all within the middle market.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with product teams to conceptualize and outline high-level designs for feature enhancements.
- Partner with application architects and product stakeholders to develop technical roadmaps that align with strategic objectives and industry best practices.
- Identify and articulate technology and organizational requirements across the enterprise.
- Take a pivotal role in addressing technical, business, and organizational issues within the team.
- Tackle intricate technical challenges within a specific sub-department, offering solutions of the highest caliber.
- Explore opportunities for innovation across multiple teams, fostering a culture of experimentation and problem-solving.
- Champion initial technical implementations to support architectural enhancements particularly focused on scalability and performance optimization.
- Ensure alignment of OKR-level objectives across various teams within the sub-department.
- Facilitate discussions to overcome obstacles and promote collaboration across teams.
- Engage with customers and external stakeholders as a trusted consultant and advocate for the sub-department's initiatives.
- Demonstrate unwavering technical prowess and consistency in all endeavors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
- Proven track record (5-7+ years) in principal or senior engineering roles, showcasing deep expertise in software development and technical proficiency.
- Substantial experience (3-5+ years) with AWS, either through direct usage, certification, or equivalent cloud credentials.
- Proficiency in AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, Elastic Container Service, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway.
- Experience working with AWS serverless implemented with Python, SQL, NoSQL, and .NET
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
- Self-driven with exceptional time management and organizational capabilities.
- Enthusiastic about continuous learning and eager to explore and advocate for emerging technologies.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated accountability and commitment to delivering outstanding work at both team and individual levels.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
