We are seeking a highly motivated, upbeat Power Architect to address power-performance-thermal challenges faced in our products. You have an analytical mind for requirements trade-off analysis impacting system performance and product experience. This role requires excellent analytical skills and very good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Qualifications

  • You have a consistent track record in developing products with challenging low power requirements
  • Strong background in PMIC specs and product integration of PMICs
  • Strong background in converter topologies
  • Sound EE fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of electrical design trade-offs, manufacturing complexities, and characterization methodologies
  • Understanding of battery architectures
  • Understanding of battery performance and challenges involved in integration
  • Understanding of thermal performance and challenges in products
  • Ability to learn quickly and become familiar with overall product goals and challenges
  • Strong social skills across organizations and at the executive level
  • Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions

Description

You have a wide breadth and understanding in the following technical areas: various converter topologies including buck, boost, LDOs, LED drivers, and charger, excellent understanding of the trade-offs involved in defining requirements for the application, PMIC definition and trade-offs, and board layout. You should be well versed in details involved in integrating battery pack in the product, including but not limited to: pack architecture, cell behavior under various conditions, and electrical details of integration. You understand thermal challenges involved in designing power hungry systems. This multi-functional role requires analytical skills in system design parameters, analyzing and optimizing power across systems, system concept development, system evaluation, data analysis, and reporting of conclusions.

Education & Experience

BS/MS/PhD in relevant field (EE, Physics) 10+ years work experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
