Systems & Network Administrator

Offit Kurman, a quickly growing full-service law firm, is currently seeking a Network & Systems Administrator. Primary responsibility will be to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be required to design and develop scalable, maintainable, highly available architectures that meet business objects and SLAs.

*This position is primarily remote; however, the candidate will need to reside in proximity to one, if not several, of our offices and is expected to be on site, as needed.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Design, configure and install various network devices and services (routers, switches firewalls, VPN, load balancers, etc.) including on-premises systems and cloud networking solutions.
  • Understanding of Cloud foundational components, with hands-on experience in Azure in several of the following areas: Azure Cloud IaaS & PaaS services, Identity and access management, Software-defined networking, security, governance, and compliance.
  • Design implement and manage Azure Firewall, VNet routing, NSG, and resource groups.
  • Migrating on-premises workloads to Azure cloud.
  • Procuring network equipment and managing ISP subcontractors with network installations.
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability, reliability, and capacity planning.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Wireless network design, implementation and performing network audits and health checks.
  • Assist with the engineering, scheduling, and management of system rollouts ensuring they meet firm standards for integration, usability, and security.
  • Respond to alerts and tier III support ticket escalations as required.
  • Understand and recommend solutions such as replacement/upgrade of existing hardware, software, applications, self-help guides, process improvements, knowledge base, etc. to enhance services and eliminate incidents.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation and standard operating procedures to assist with system usage, configuration procedures, and standard operation manuals.
  • Further develop technical skills by proactively seeking to expand knowledge and skills through formal and informal training.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed for critical systems and collaborate with team members.
  • Display professional conduct with internal and external team members, and valued partners.
  • Assists with other duties as directed by management and achieve organizational goals.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • The ideal applicant should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Network and Systems Administration.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki and Azure firewall configurations.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networks from Layer 2 through Layer 7, from IP addressing and naming (DHCP, DNS, subnetting, VLAN) through security, along with related software tools for monitoring and management.
  • Experience with Azure virtual network constructs: VNets, Subnets, Network Security Groups.
  • Experience and Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Knowledge, skills, abilities creating, and managing automation scripts to manage Network as a Service (Software Defined Networking (SDN), Load Balancers, firewalls, etc.
  • Experience with ISP vendor relationships and network configurations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on diversified networks.
  • Organizational, documentation, and time management skills able to prioritize work and meet competing deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter with professional maturity, confidence, and a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills able to convey technical information to individuals of various levels of technical comprehension.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when required.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Some travel as required, primarily day trips between offices
