Tax Manager
Position Description:
Tax Manager for Medtronic, Inc. report to Minneapolis, MN. Work collaboratively with other departments and other tax professionals in the preparation of company’s federal and state income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax calculations and federal extension payment analysis. Identifying and quantifying all tax adjustments needed to determine book-to-tax adjustments including detailed analysis of depreciation schedules.to. Prepare the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions, deferred tax assets/liabilities and tax rate analysis required under Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740. Perform research and planning analysis as appropriate and required. Work on special tax projects including FDII (Foreign Derived Intangible Income), CorpTax software administration and maintenance, TBBS (Tax Basis Balance Sheet), e-file management, and legal settlements with varying levels of involvement and responsibilities. Assist with state, local and international tax projects as needed. Provide expertise in use and manipulation of data in Excel to include Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Data Manipulation, Power BI, and Multiple Embedded Formulas. Utilize various software packages and systems including CorpTax, OneSource Tax Provision to prepare and e-file tax returns. Using CXF, SAP, and Hyperion to obtain financial data and information. Utilize Wolters Kluwer CCH and Bloomberg Tax BNA to research tax laws, regulations and rulings. Prepare responses to information document requests, notices and other inquiries from federal and state tax authorities. Position is open to telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field and three (3) years of experience as accountant, auditor, or related occupation in Corporate or Partnership tax reporting OR Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field and five (5) years of experience as accountant, auditor, or related occupation in Corporate or Partnership tax reporting. Must possess a minimum of 3 years with each of the following. Excel to include Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Data Manipulation, Power BI, and Multiple Embedded Formulas; Using ONESOURCE and CORPTAX to prepare and e-file tax returns; CXF; Calculation of book to tax adjustments including depreciation; Researching tax laws, regulations and rulings using Wolters Kluwer CCH and Bloomberg Tax BNA; Preparation of responses to inquiries from federal and state tax authorities; Preparation of income tax provisions required under Accounting Standards Codification 740. *Position is open to telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.
