About the Role:

The Team Lead Technical Operations Linux Systems reports to the VP of Technical Services and is responsible for all technical aspects of the Linux systems globally. This role will provide an architectural framework for information systems development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts. By working closely with developers and Linux engineers the Team Lead Technical Operations Linux Systems will develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure. This role will need to monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements.

The Team Lead Technical Operations Linux Systems will also be responsible for understanding the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. Additionally, this role will analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of Linux team members
  • Responsible for weekly/monthly/annual planning and reporting metrics
  • Act as a point of escalation for major technical problems and complex customer setups.
  • SLA implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Implements security measures in all technical activities to limit unauthorized access/use over the global compute environment
  • Architecture, design, deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the company’s 24x7 applications operations to meet company goals and customer commitments
  • Selection, implementation, and support of monitoring tools
  • Responsible for platform change management, asset management, and capacity planning
  • Responsible for reviewing current operations for efficiency improvements, consolidation, and increasing density
  • Works to ensure “on time” and “on budget” delivery of projects and product content
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and management of data center infrastructure and server-side applications
  • Coordination with other global operations teams to ensure knowledge sharing, collaboration, and standardization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients.
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
