Technical Product Manager

As a Product Manager for the EverQuote B2B Platform, you will help millions of consumers protect their most valuable assets by building the industry’s best B2B platform. You will be a driver of transformative growth for EverQuote by making it easy to do business with us and ensuring we can offer a best in class service to our customers.

Who we look for

You envision, design, deliver, plan, and drive tech innovations to enable critical business operations. You work collaboratively on the roadmap, adoption, operation, business value, and life cycle of platforms and systems at EverQuote. You own relationships with the users of your technology and you partner with stakeholders to define and execute a tech-driven strategy that drives value-multiplied output for our business. You are data-driven in your thinking, and lead discussions with data. You will build partnerships -- up, down, and across -- with Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, and Engineers. You will define metrics to measure progress and value of engineering output and regularly provide direct visibility to senior leadership on all aspects of your programs.

You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You communicate with clarity, both orally and in writing, and excel in stakeholder relationship management. You have a strong background, with experience in software agile development cycles and in managing and delivering large cross-functional programs. You have grit, are prepared to handle rapid-changes in an evolving environment, and are able to respond to escalations with data and causal analysis.

  • Identify customer needs and requirements to meet customer demands, breaking work down into actionable tasks and working with cross-functional agile teams to execute those requirements.
  • Represent business priorities through execution plans, ensuring any work taken into a sprint has been prioritized, groomed, pointed and has clear acceptance criteria and business value associated.
  • Carry the voice of customer in every conversation and decision, ensuring we build world class products that our customers love and value
  • Develop new features to meet emerging needs and technologies while proactively identifying gaps/opportunities using a data driven approach
  • Understand and drive adoption of best in class Agile processes; work closely with engineering to ensure the right outcomes
  • Work closely with other teams & functions to coordinate dependencies and remove obstacles for your team along the way
  • Possess a continuous learner and continuous improvement mindset
  • Maintain agile backlog of stories and epics required to execute the prioritized outcomes
  • Guide agile team members via the setting of goals/objectives on a sprint-by-sprint basis, that relate to delivered end-to-end functionality and can be demoed to the business on a monthly basis
  • Oversee production launches of functionality with a roll-out plan, testing plan, and clear/measurable success criteria to continue or complete roll-out
  • Responsible for ensuring agile team metrics (coding days, epic cycle time, etc.) are in line with expectations and have equal contribution from Engineering and Product

Essential Criteria

  • 4+ years of engineering, product management, or relevant experience at an Internet and/or Technology company
  • BSc/BA
  • Broad technical knowledge, including web front end, web services, and back-end application infrastructure
  • Previous experience working on technical platforms and defining requirements for complex systems
  • Previous experience in an Agile software development setting
  • Deep experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver distinctive impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven ability to think strategically and methodically execute solutions 
  • Fluency in SQL for self-service data analysis purposes
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization including executive teams
  • History of teamwork and a bias for action

Desirable Criteria

Strong Product Owner (execution/delivery oriented) skill set - this role will be heavy in this skillset
