Technical Product Owner
Description
**6 Months FTC with a view to extend**
As a Product Owner on our team, your primary focus will be to collaborate closely with Data Scientists to develop and deploy cutting-edge machine learning models for optimizing oil & gas production wells and platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Data Science team to create and implement ML models for tasks such as predicting well production, detecting sensor data anomalies, and optimizing well operations.
- Guiding the entire ML model development process, from defining problem statements and data gathering to model development, evaluation, and production deployment.
- Facilitating seamless collaboration among the Data Science team, Customer Success team, and Engineering team.
- Providing clear guidance on feature acceptance criteria, testing, and validation.
- Taking ownership of and meticulously managing the product backlog, ensuring readiness for at least two sprints at all times.
- Partnering with the Customer Success team to conduct insightful customer and stakeholder interviews to gain a deep understanding of client needs.
- Establishing alignment between customers, product managers, and engineering teams through effective stakeholder liaison.
- Demonstrating exceptional business acumen by staying updated on the latest industry trends and serving as an internal authority on the product and market.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, ideally coupled with practical experience in the oil & gas industry.
- A solid working knowledge of AI & ML tasks and techniques, coupled with experience in Agile methodologies.
- Several years working in product management as well as multiple years of software engineering experience
- Driven, goal-oriented, and proven record of delivery
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in delivering effective presentations to senior executives
- Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively across diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience or familiarity with distributed acoustic and temperature (DAS & DTS) data, underwater acoustics, and/or thermodynamics.
- Knowledge in one of the following areas: multiphase flow in pipes, well integrity, or sand production in wells.
- Possession of an advanced degree (MSc) in a relevant discipline.
