About The Role:
We are looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, Technical Solutions Manager who is obsessed with not only data engineering, distributed systems, and MLOps, but with empowering our dynamic customers. Partnering with their AI teams, you will architect and implement our product, providing technical and functional expertise, as well as recommendations that drive business value and aid in expanding Wallaroo.AI accounts. Because this role is highly technical, you will be a trusted resource, teacher and consultant, delighting our customer’s engineers and data scientists alike.
We are a small but mighty early-stage startup, with an inclusive, collaborative team, and we are looking for someone with strong technical chops, experience working in a technical, client-facing role and most of all, a strong desire to drive impact by helping our customers succeed. As part of the role, you will partner with the product team and act as the “Voice of the Customer” to help inform our product roadmap and ensure that Wallaroo.AI is seen as an essential tool for the full life cycle of production ML – not just deployment but also observability, validation, and optimization.
About You:
You have a track record of working directly with technical clients–external or internal–on high-quality architectural implementations and solutions management. You’ve ideally spent some time in software development, data science or ML Engineering and enjoy taking an active role in documentation and process development. You thrive in an environment where needs change quickly, experimentation is welcomed and continuous learning and improvement is highly encouraged.

If you are passionate about building relationships with technical stakeholders, working with sales engineering teams to identify customer needs and thinking strategically about renewals, expansion and aiding in winning new accounts, this may be the role for you! We have a distributed (you can work from anywhere), international team and our employees work both collaboratively and independently.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience working as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, a Solutions Architect or as an Engineer working with ML models in production
- An understanding of ML/AI frameworks like XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit Learn, HuggingFace
- Proficiency in data science and ML development languages and environments (python, jupyterHub)
- Proficiency in cloud Kubernetes deployment is a plus
- Technical project planning and delivery
- Experience in, or the desire to be customer-facing (bonus points for former Sales Engineers, Customer Success Engineers or Technical Onboarding Specialists)
- A passion for technical planning, deploying applications into customer environments and solution delivery
- The ability to eloquently explain complex ideas to clients and customer executives
- Self-awareness, a high EQ, and excellent written and verbal communications skills
