Our Product Management Team

Our Product Management team supports our customers by driving the features and functionality that allow them to manage their physical resources. As part of this team, you will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle. We are customer-centric, ensuring that our products deliver value in every aspect.

The Technical Writer is responsible for writing, editing, and updating both technical and user documentation. Working closely with the Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services, and Support teams, you will research and develop documentation used by our internal and external customers.

How you'll make a difference

  • Create, update, and generate documentation for both cloud-based and enterprise software, delivered in multiple formats.
  • Write and edit online help, release notes, knowledgebase articles, user guides, technical installation/configuration guides, and API references for a variety of users.
  • Document the features of each new software release and enhance the existing product documentation on a regular schedule.
  • Produce multiple deliverables with frequent deadlines under limited supervision.
  • Support the UX and Engineering teams by authoring user-interface text for our software products.
  • As a member of the Technical Communications team, contribute to the development of best practices for technical writing and content delivery.
  • Use independent judgment and discretion to evaluate and recommend solutions to problems and reach established goals.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Accruent products and technologies.
  • Own standards design and development for product documentation.
  • Display deep familiarity with the primary technologies and practices needed to produce quality documentation.

You'll stand out if you

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent software research and work with engineers, support associates, product managers, and QA associates.
  • Experience with technical writing tools and software technologies such as: Photoshop, Snagit, Confluence, SharePoint, Google Analytics, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, HTML/CSS, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content aimed at a variety of audiences.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while remaining organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience as a Technical Writer (background in software writing such as user guides, administrator guides, technical references, online help, and release notes preferred). 
  • Experience creating online help systems or software documentation, preferably using a single-source authoring tool such as MadCap Flare or RoboHelp.
  • An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) in Technical Communications, Journalism, Computer Science or a related field.
