The Role

The BeyondTrust Technical Communications team is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining product documentation and media for all BeyondTrust products. As a Senior Technical Writer on the BeyondTrust Technical Communications team, you will have the opportunity to work with a stellar team to create and maintain product documentation and web help in a cross-functional, distributed environment.  

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain a proficient level of knowledge of BeyondTrust products and assist others in enhancing their knowledge.  
  • Review requirements and perform independent research to learn about new products, features, and functionality.  
  • Interview and work with subject matter experts to write technically accurate and well-informed product documentation.  
  • Create content on how to use new product and new functionality in technical documentation as well as continue to maintain existing product documentation.  
  • Manage multiple documentation projects with varying schedules in a dynamic environment.  
  • Communicate status updates to the manager, team, and other stakeholders.  
  • Proofread and edit technical documentation based on the standards outlined in the BeyondTrust Technical Communications Style Guide.  
  • Ensure technical documentation is completed and ready on schedule.  
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Technical Communications Manager.  

What You’ll Bring

  • Must have at least 2-3 years of technical writing experience in a SaaS environment. 
  • Must possess competent understanding Information Architecture, writing standards, concepts, common practices, and authoring procedures. 
  • Must possess technical aptitude to learn complex technologies quickly. 
  • Experience documenting cloud and SaaS use cases is required. 
  • Experience documenting UI experiences for multiple types of administrative and end-user personas. 
  • Experience using Madcap Flare is required. 
  • Basic knowledge of source control systems and functionality is required. Specifically, experience working with Git source control is a plus. 

Nice To Have

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.  
  • Experience in using single-source authoring principles.  
  • Experience creating in-product and context sensitive help. 
  • Experience generating API documentation. 
  • Experience working with or on an Agile team.  
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Show passion and excitement about writing and technology. 
  • Enjoy working on a team and collaborating with others. 
  • Have a desire to grow as a professional and help further the company.
