Job Summary

As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality, clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our platform, APIs, and integration processes. Your work will contribute to enhancing the user experience, enabling seamless integration for our clients, and promoting the adoption of our innovative ecommerce and eprocurement solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the e-commerce or software industry and a passion for simplifying complex concepts.

Essential Functions

  • Documentation Creation: Develop user-friendly documentation, including user guides, API documentation, technical specifications, and knowledge base articles, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and coherence. Produce or use visual aids, such as flowcharts, diagrams, mockups, & screenshots, to complement written documentation
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and quality assurance, to gather information and understand complex technical concepts for effective documentation
  • Content Management: Organize and maintain a centralized repository for all documentation, ensuring version control, accessibility, and ease of navigation
  • User-Centric Approach: Craft documentation with a user-centric perspective, anticipating user needs and providing comprehensive solutions to common issues
  • Review and Editing: Review and edit documentation produced by other team members for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established standards
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing to continually improve documentation quality and relevance
  • Process Enhancement: Collaborate with the Product Development team to identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlining documentation workflows, and enhancing overall efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing for software products, APIs, or technology platforms. Experience in the ecommerce or iPaaS domain is highly desirable
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in understanding and translating complex technical concepts into easily understandable documentation for various audiences'
  • Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and grammatical accuracy. Ability to translate complex technical jargon into clear, user-friendly content
  • Collaborative Nature: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Documentation Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, version control systems, and content management systems
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to grasp technical complexities and simplify them for end-users
  • Attention to User Experience: Demonstrated commitment to user-centered design principles, ensuring documentation meets user needs and enhances their experience

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Relevant certifications in technical writing or documentation management are a plus
  • Strong understanding of B2B e-commerce, procurement processes, and/or software integrations
  • Familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies
  • Prior experience in creating video tutorials or webinars
  • Experience working directly with e-commerce platforms like Magento, SAP Ariba, BigCommerce, Shopify, etc.
  • Knowledge of XML, cXML, JSON, and other data interchange formats relevant to e-commerce integrations
