Technical Writer

WorkWave is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Learning and Development team to help document software solutions that meet the learning requirements of multiple audiences in the WorkWave business. 

The Technical Writer will be an integral part of a collaborative Learning and Development team responsible for creating instructional documentation, product release notes, and focused training tutorials required to enhance internal and external learning experiences. 

The Technical Writer will gain an understanding of WorkWave’s products and translate complex information into user-friendly content that meets the needs of our target audiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our products and their documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Attend associated Product meetings to ensure upcoming releases, updates, and new features are recognized and to gain a firm understanding of product updates
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help information, and self-guided learning experiences 
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Ensure a consistent style of presentation of content to maintain quality and ease of review
  • Manage the distribution of all release notes

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 0-2 years working as a Technical Writer in the SaaS industry
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
  • Experience in writing documentation for various audiences
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience in working with SMEs (subject matter experts) to improve user experience, refine content, and create technical support content
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, writing, and editing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers to deliver business results
  • Experience in Camtasia is a bonus

$55,000 - $60,000 a year
