Our Teller Development team is seeking to hire a motivated Test Automation Engineer, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager who will serve as a liaison between customers and development departments during the product development phase. This team supports the development and production of Jack Henry’s Banking Teller Product. In this position, you will help design, develop, and maintain reusable automated test scripts. This includes adhering to current automation strategies and best practices. You will evaluate, review, and test new or modified software programs to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conforms to established guidelines. This position will work remotely in the United States.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Creates and maintains basic automated scripts. Develops reusable automated scripts from a variety of interfaces.
  • Schedules and performs testing as assigned; submits errors and issues to development for correction, and retests once errors have been corrected; tests corrected code. Tracks defects and causal analysis to closure.
  • Coordinates and performs automation projects from initiation through delivery. Ensures that automation projects are completed on schedule.
  • Establishes/maintains communication with manual testers/teams to ensure new automation and automation maintenance needs are met in appropriate timeframes.
  • Prepares automated test plans and test scripts for software corrections and enhancements. May submit test plans and test reports for review and feedback.
  • Uses automated Quality Assurance systems to facilitate daily activities.
  • With occasional assistance from more senior team members, analyzes script results and reports issues as requested.
  • Executes and reports results of automated scripts in test management tools. Presents reporting of automation progress as requested.
  • May assist the team in designing test cases for unit testing, use cases for UMLs, and creating and maintaining test libraries, databases, and test environments.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 18 months of experience working as a business analyst, quality analyst, technical support, or test automation engineer in an information technology or fintech organization.
  • Experience reading and coding in programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, HTML,
  • Experience with Gherkin statements.
  • Experience with Swagger, Selenium, or other Test Automation tools.
  • While this position can be worked remotely must be willing to work Central Time Zone Hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Central.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Experience working within a financial institution or Jack Henry products.
  • General knowledge of the software development lifecycle, and software testing lifecycle.
  • Associate's degree in an Information Systems/ Computer Science discipline.
