Trust Accountant (CPA)
About Valur
At Valur, we are on a mission to help our customers identify and act on the tax-planning strategies that have historically been limited to family offices. Just like Roman Health and Hims have productized regulated healthcare processes to make them more available to all, we are building a system to streamline the tax planning tools of the ultra-rich to make them affordable and accessible to everyone. We started with irrevocable trusts, validating that individuals want a smart, simple, tech-forward approach to what used to be complex, lawyer-led processes. We built on that early momentum to develop several other high-value financial products, enabling everyone to reduce their taxes no matter the tax liability they are facing.
The proof is in the results: We have scaled quickly to 7-figures in annual revenue through direct-to-consumer engagement and partnerships with some of the top investment advisory firms in the business. Given that traction, we have raised money from a group of top early-stage investors, including Box Group, Canaan, BasisSet, Vibe Capital and notable angels.
About the Role
Our goal is to build a platform that is accessible to both customers with no experience in complex financial planning and financial advisors and CPA’s who do this for a living.
We believe in high agency and ownership; we prize proactive team members who see a problem and come to the group with a solution and a plan to implement it.
The right candidate for this role will be a CPA who is excited to be exposed to a variety of work including:
- Filing trust taxes, ensuring timely filing of tax returns and payments.
- Working with our product team to build out our automated accounting system to help scale our product to thousands of customers. Helping us build the logic to automate accounting for new trust products
- Working with our customers and partners, providing guidance on tax implications of business decisions, investments, and other financial transactions.
- Identifying potential tax savings opportunities and recommending strategies to clients.
