About the Role:
We're looking for this Trust & Safety Manager to organize and drive Vercel's response to scaled abuse on our platform while improving our capabilities and team. The Trust & Safety Manager, Platform Abuse will play a critical role in building out and operating Vercel's scaled abuse operations, investigations, processes, and systems; and they will work with the Platform Abuse Engineering team to build tooling and scaled abuse systems.
As a Trust Manager, you will work cross-functionally with Vercel's engineering, product, growth, and customer success organizations and report to the Senior Manager, Trust & Safety. This is an opportunity to create a scaled abuse program and build on top of an existing foundation. What You Will Do:
- Proactively and reactively investigating, reviewing abuse reports, and developing methods for investigating platform abuse and scaled abuse
- Partnering with Customer Support Safety Support Specialists to create alignment with Vercel's Terms and Conditions with respect to Vercel's acceptable use
- Managing expectations and communicating the team's priorities, status, and progress to stakeholders
- Systematizing and documenting Platform Abuse processes, metrics, operations and goals
- Refining and directly managing Platform Abuse engineering prioritization to develop new tools, systems and processes to support Platform Abuse operations
- Working with large sets of structured data, and using ML and AI systems to accomplish Platform Abuse goals
- Collaborate on principles of Trust-by-Design (e.g. Secure-by-Design) to establish effective controls and mitigations as new products and features ship
About You:
- 5+ years in scaled abuse, anti-spam, or Trust & Safety/abuse as an engineer or analyst (or similar with an investigatory function)
- Experience in operations, ML operations, internal tools, or signals intelligence
- Demonstrated ability to keep up with day to day operations while also maintaining longer term projects and management reporting
- Comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving
- Excellent information distiller, communicator, and relationship-builder
Bonus If You:
- You have experience working on scaled abuse problems in an operational capacity
- Operations experience implementing AI or AI labeling to solve operations problems
- You have started or managed a technically-inclined team before
- You have some previous technical analyst, software engineering, or data engineering experience

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $193,000.00 - $241,000.00. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
