The Global Tax Department is seeking a U.S. Tax Director to join the team playing an integral role in leading U.S. federal and State income taxes compliance and reporting. The ideal candidate should have deep subject matter expertise in U.S. federal and State income tax law for corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, with experience defending tax positions in front of the tax authorities. The candidate should be experienced in managing a team with strong communication skills to collaborate with functional business leaders and support government incentive negotiations. This is a high visibility leadership position, and it is based in Santa Clara, California with remote working arrangement available for candidates based within Pacific and Central time zones. The position reports to the Senior Director Tax Counsel – Global Tax Planning and Controversy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead U.S. federal and State tax compliances for a U.S. federal consolidated group, U.S. partnerships, and standalone U.S. entities, by applying the most updated U.S. and State laws to our facts.
  • Understand Global Tax components of planning, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and other M&A transactions, as well as post-acquisition integrations, in order to execute and reflect those into U.S. federal and state tax reporting and compliances.
  • Advise business and legal teams on tax aspects of structuring and valuing potential transactions.
  • Collaborate with other members of Global Tax advisory team to model potential transaction impact and develop transaction structure and integration plans.
  • Advise post-acquisition integration and compliance from U.S. federal and state compliance perspectives.
  • Document transactions and lead reporting to Global Tax management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Advise global controversy team in responding to pertinent audit requests.
  • Advise compliance consequences with other research, advisory, and business projects as needed.
  • Effectively explain tax concepts and issues to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Keep senior management updated with legislative and regulatory changes with application to our facts.
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional and international teams while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant compliance experience in a public accounting firm, and/or the tax function of a multinational corporation.
  • Strong understanding on U.S. GAAP rules.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws.
  • Strong subchapter K knowledge and experience.
  • Either CPA or Master of Science in Taxation and/or Accounting.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Proven strong project management skills by working with teams.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado and New York:$175,820.00-$281,240.00

  • Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
