User Experience Designer

We have multiple opportunities for user experience (UX) designers to contribute to our work at USCIS. The products we support are designated as mission-critical, as anyone who needs a visa or benefits relating to citizenship must be processed through these systems which have deep connections to other tools and systems throughout USCIS, DHS, and the Department of State.

What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with clients to bring their product vision to life by conducting research, conceptualizing ideas, sketching designs, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Design and deliver research plans, user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user stories that lead to effective digital experiences.
- Rapidly iterate on your designs in alignment with Agile software development best practices.
- Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, product teams, and users by applying human-centered design methods to refine and improve design artifacts.
- Ask great questions to help translate ambiguous requirements into actionable plans and design deliverables.
- Support analysis and documentation of product requirements, with a strong focus on deeply understanding the product(s) you design for.
- Partner closely with developers to adhere to established design standards while proactively contributing to the development of new standards where necessary.
- Be a strong voice in presenting ideas, concepts, and design solutions to gain stakeholder buy-in and encourage constructive critique.
What You Will Bring:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
- A bachelor’s degree in any field, or commensurate work experience and certifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Information Technology, focusing on user experience design within product development teams.
- Excellent understanding and practical experience in:
- Figma, including prototyping and libraries
- Digital Whiteboarding tools such as Mural
- Performing user research and refining business requirements in service of your designs
- Moving designs from low-fidelity to high-fidelity in an iterative fashion
- Guiding the design process from planning through execution in an independent capacity
- Managing work and documentation in Jira and Confluence
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Agile leads, software developers, testers, business analysts, and product owners in an Agile environment
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous customer requests and diverse perspectives into clear, actionable deliverables.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently to perform on the job
- Strong consulting skills and ability to build trust with clients and teammates
Bonus Points:
- Prior experience in government contracting, especially at USCIS
- Professional experience related to service design and an understanding that technical solutions are part of a bigger, human-centered picture.

Compensation and benefits:
Pluribus Digital offers a competitive salary that is determined at the time of offer. The range for this role ranges from $120,290-$141,210 depending on experience. Salary is augmented with opportunity to earn annual bonus and medical/dental/vision benefits, PTO, company paid life insurance and a generous 401k match program. We offer additional wellness benefits as well as a comprehensive employee discount program.
