Job Description
The UX Content Writer at Western Digital’s Flash Division will be responsible for creating and maintaining the written content that enhances the overall user experience of our products. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a flair for creative and concise writing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
As we embark on the development of new software products, this role will provide an exciting opportunity to get in at the ground level, contributing to the establishment of our UX design foundations for innovative software solutions that will impact millions of users worldwide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop clear, concise, and user-friendly content for digital interfaces, including websites, applications, and other interactive platforms.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to understand user needs and translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and intuitive content.
- Develop and implement content strategies that align with user journeys and overall product goals.
- Craft user-friendly microcopy, tooltips, error messages, and other content elements to enhance the overall user experience.
- Collaborate on usability testing to gather insights and refine content based on user feedback.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all digital touchpoints.
- Implement accessibility best practices to ensure content is inclusive and usable by a global audience.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging content design approaches to continuously improve content quality.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, UX Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of work experience in UX writing, technical writing, or content strategy.
SKILLS:
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to translate complex concepts into user-friendly content.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong research skills to gather insights and contribute to data-driven content decisions.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt writing style to suit different audiences, contexts, and platforms.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content for search engines.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects at once in a timely manner.
