UX Designer
GovOS is looking for a UX Designer who is innovative, ambitious and passionate about designing digital solutions and delightful user experiences. This position will lead the design-led product development initiative with the goal of reimagining the overall user experience of using GovOS products by our customers as well as the businesses and citizens who interact with the systems on a a day-to-day basis. The goal is to create a streamlined, easy to use and engaging platform for those who interact with the systems on a day-to-day basis within state and local government agencies. The position will require end-to-end design process ownership, designing a user experience that is differentiated in the market.
This position is remote and reports to the CPO, who oversees both product and engineering, working mostly with product, development and design system teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support ongoing design of industry-leading platforms and digital experience
- Collaborate with an agile team from discovery to delivery across various products (from greenfield to optimization of existing projects)
- Bring a high-energy, empathetic UX design approach to our growing product development team
- Use special personas based on user research results
- Responsible for establishing best practices and influencing working methods for the entire team
- Efficiently lead the creation of wireframes, prototypes and high-resolution artifacts using user-focused designs, experience and knowledge of journey mapping techniques
- Solve UX problems, such as usability or findability, using creative approach
- Provide confident context and coaching for other team members in processing and design practices
- Discuss design ideas and prototypes with developers
- Understand user needs through product use observations, customer journey interviews, stakeholder interviews and product managers
- Stay informed about competitor products and industry trends
- Responsible for making our products more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers
Qualifications
- Solid UX/UI design portfolio with 6+ years of B2B enterprise SaaS experience
- A Portfolio demonstrating systematic product thinking and superior craft, including user flows, design components, UX and UI design
- Experience interacting with end users & peer organizations for discovery and to uncover problems to solve for our users and how to best transition from existing experience to the new one
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to articulate and advocate design decisions, and rationale in relation to other considered possible approaches
- Ability to interpret information from user analytics reports and user research to adopt a data-driven approach to creative problem solving
- Good knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
- Experience in project management and research will be a bonus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with business-oriented approach
- Experience applying an incremental product design process in an Agile environment
- Collaborative UX team member with an enthusiastic, creative, and positive human-centered approach
- BS in Design, Computer Science, Engineering or other related area preferred

- Pay Range: $120,000-$160,000 annually
