About the Role:
We are looking for a part-time (3 days a week) UX Designer to join our team, reporting to the Director of Product in the Technology Team, you can be based in one of our offices or work remotely. You will design and manage the user experience and design systems for a mobile web application used by commission-based sales agents working in rural areas of Senegal and Mali to sell and manage agricultural products. You will work with product managers, developers, and other departments to ensure that the application meets user needs, is visually appealing, and is easy to use.
You Will:
- Create user-centred designs for our custom built mobile web application(s).
- Organise user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate.
- Develop design systems and style guides for consistency and usability across the application(s).
- Collaborate with product managers to create requirements which balance user needs and strategic goals.
- Co-Create user personas, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and interactions.
- Work with engineering to ensure designs are implemented according to the specifications.
You Have:
- 3+ years of experience in UX design, graphic design, and design systems management for mobile web applications.
- A portfolio demonstrating design expertise and process, including experience designing for rural areas in sub-Saharan Africa.
- The ability to advocate for user-centred design principles and best practices.
- Comfort using design software such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma.
- The ability to perform user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
- The ability to work with on the ground teams from a distance.
- Fluency in English and French.
