As a Visual/UI Designer at MakerSights, you will play a critical role in shaping the content and visual design of our products - including our software platform, our insight reports, and more. Through the MakerSights products you will be helping apparel, footwear, and accessory brands make informed product decisions. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will work closely with the product, marketing, and insights teams to create functional, beautiful, and user centric designs that solve real customer problems. This role requires a passion for user-centered design, a strong visual eye, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Visualization: Design innovative ways to present complex data and insights, ensuring that reports are both visually appealing and easy to understand.
  • Marketing Design: Work closely with the Marketing team to create visually compelling design assets that communicate the value of MakerSights’ tools and insights to potential and existing clients.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain and evolve MakerSights’ design language, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints, from the product interface to marketing assets.
  • Product Design: Collaborate with the Product team to design new features, ensuring they meet user needs and align with MakerSights’ overall product vision.
  • User Interface Design: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise between Product, Marketing, and Insights teams to ensure a cohesive user experience across all touchpoints. Your designs will support product development, customer-facing reports, and marketing materials.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of experience in design, ideally in SaaS or research-driven environments.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced team.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity.
  • Curiosity and a proactive mindset that drives continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a mix of visual design, UI, and UX, projects.
  • Proficiency with design tools like Figma, along with knowledge of prototyping and wireframing tools.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and how to translate user needs into effective design solutions.
  • Ability to transform complex data into visually compelling and user-friendly designs, particularly in the area of data visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and explain design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating seamless, user-friendly experiences.

Salary Range: The Salary Range for this position is CAD 70,000-80,000 annually, with exact salary depending on location as well as prior work experience and the assessment of one's fit for the role.
