The Role
ZenBusiness is a leading organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Design to join our product team. The ideal candidate will be an execution-focused leader with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for creating exceptional digital experiences.
This position will report to the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and is a remote role.
Responsibilities
As the Vice President of Design, you will be responsible for leading the design team (15+ FTE across designers and copywriters) and driving a cohesive UX/UI across all digital platforms, including mobile apps, mobile web, and desktop web. You will work closely with product management, marketing, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure that our products are not only visually appealing but also intuitive, user-friendly, and consistent.
Coach and mentor designers and design leaders, hire and attract talent to the team, and foster a culture where designers grow, learn, and do their best work. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the design culture within the company and ensuring that design excellence is at the forefront of our product development process.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in design, with at least 6 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Fine Arts, or a related field or equivalent experience on the job.
- Proven track record of leading successful design projects and delivering exceptional user experiences at direct-to-customer (vs enterprise SaaS) companies with web, mobile web, and native mobile apps.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, frameworks, and methodologies, and experience applying them to real-world problems rooted in user insights and feedback throughout the product development life cycle.
- Proven experience building and leading design teams, defining roles, hiring, and managing the career paths of your team.
- Decisive, candid, humble, and adaptable leadership skills that empower teams to be courageous, solutions-oriented, and creative.
- Exceptional at getting things done at high velocity, action-oriented, and a fast decision-maker.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels in the organization, with the ability to articulate complex problem spaces and the strategies behind decisions.
- Deep understanding of mobile app and web design principles, including responsive design, adaptive design, and mobile-first strategies.
- Understanding of web and mobile design principles, including accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, interfacing with engineering teams, and web performance optimization.
- Experience with design tools such as Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
- Strong familiarity with the latest AI tools in the design space.

- Passion for a Design Thinking approach.
- Experience in rapidly scaling startups or high-growth companies, especially within the tech, eComm, or SaaS sectors.
