POSITION OVERVIEW
Chairish is looking for a Vice President, People. This position will lead a team of human resource individuals to oversee and guide the leadership team on all personnel matters and employee relations, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, policies and compliance, team-building, benefits administration, and culture building. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people management and is comfortable in a fast-paced, quickly scaling environment with a global footprint. As our “People Leader”, you’ll partner with all staff across the entire business around the world and play a key role in Chairish’s development and success. This role is remote-eligible and preferably based in either California or New York.
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership and support on people and organizational issues.
- Lead a team of HR professionals, while mentoring and coaching.
- Oversee the People Culture of the company’s global presence and expansion.
- Build and execute a roadmap for the management team that will support Chairish’s ambitious growth.
- Partner, coach, and consult while balancing the multi-faceted role of being an employee advocate, culture keeper, company steward, and administrator.
- Lead the documentation, implementation, and administration of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
- Serve as a senior advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters to ensure the company has the talent, processes, systems, and policies necessary to support our strategic and financial goals.
- Build trust with employees across all layers of the organization and be an active listener and effective problem solver of people issues.
- Oversee company diversity and inclusion activities and continue to promote and strengthen our company culture on a global scale.
- Additional HR projects/duties as needed.
Your experience
- 8 years of work experience in progressively responsible roles in HR including 5+ years of experience as an HRBP (start-up or early-stage company experience highly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field required.
- SPHR or GSPHR are preferred.
- Experience supporting senior-level leaders and Engineering/Product and/or Sales orgs highly preferred.
- Experience with California employment law; multi-state compliance knowledge a plus.
- Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills. Positive solutions-based attitude.
- Experience working on a global scale with team members in various locations outside the US.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement HR programs and plans that are aligned with overall business and HR strategy.
- Exercise a high degree of professionalism and communication with confidential information.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong background in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of legacy and newly emerging HRIS, Payroll, and Talent Management systems.
