The role:
Our company is seeking an experienced website designer for a temporary role on our websites team. The website designer will be responsible for working with our team to update existing pages and design new pages. The website designer will also help drive improvements to the design system that is used on Mozilla.org. The successful candidate will have experience in design systems, responsive design, web technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality designs that align with our brand guidelines.
About the team:
The Marketing Websites Team is a cross-functional team in the marketing organization that manages multiple web properties, including www.mozilla.org. We deliver web and digital experiences that tell the Mozilla story. The websites we build and maintain reach millions of users every month. We view our web properties as an extension of the Mozilla mission, and we strive to keep very high standards for security, accessibility, and compatibility.
As a website designer, you will:
- Update and improve the design system for the website that ensures consistency and scalability across all pages and sections.
- Design and develop website layouts, including page templates, graphics, and other visual elements that can fit into, and scale with our design system
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and design best practices to ensure that website designs are modern and visually appealing
- Collaborate with developers to ensure that designs are feasible and can be implemented within the given timeline and budget
- Working collaboratively with other team members, including UX Designers, copywriters, developers, and project managers
Professional profile & qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in website design, preferably working with design systems
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in creating responsive designs for various devices and screen sizes.
- Familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality designs on time.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
