Web Engineer, Podcast
About the role
We are looking for thoughtful, well-rounded engineers to join our team and help build tools that hundreds of thousands of podcast creators use every month, powering 80% of all new podcasts globally. You will join a healthy and collaborative team, continuously improving our engineering practices and delivering innovative technology, all while keeping it fun.
We promote self-direction to work on meaningful projects, while we also try to create an environment that provides the support and mentorship needed to learn and grow.
What you'll do:
- Work with your engineering manager, product manager, and design counterparts to translate specs, wireframes, and designs to engineering tasks
- Develop and maintain a performant, bug-free, and reusable library of web components written in React and Typescript
- Ensure cross-browser and multi-platform compatibility
- Run A/B tests to optimize conversion
- Use your great communication and collaboration skills to work with other front- and back-end developers to push our team forward technically
Who you are:
- You have 5+ years of experience building web applications and have demonstrated experience with React & Typescript, NextJS
- You have experience building web products at scale in a high growth consumer-facing environment
- You have experience with event-driven development
- You have built performant apps that can scale
- You have a passion for great, responsive web design
- You have the ability to try things and iterate quickly
- You are eager to learn and grow
- You have a great work ethic and a willingness to try anything and everything
- You possess excellent communication skills, and use them to document your work
- You enjoy working autonomously, but you know when to ask for help
- You work well with cross-functional, agile software development teams

- We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
- Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
- Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone

The United States base range for this position is $140,246-175,308, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance. These ranges may be modified in the future.
