Web Product Manager

Posted Jun 8

Hi, we’re CompanyCam.

We create simple-to-use, visual-first communication and accountability tools for contractors. Imagine a B2B SaaS (business-to-business software-as-a-service) app that doesn’t look like garbage, built by a team of capable, laid-back people.

But don’t let the chill throw you off; we’re a fast-growing, product-led startup with big plans for the future.

The Role

A website is so much more than just the domain of a company or product: it’s the engine that runs and impacts every other portion of the marketing machine. At CompanyCam, our website functions as a critical space for providing demos, campaign landing pages, generating signups, qualifying potential customers, and educating current users. It is an extensive SEO tool that needs strategy and optimization so our product can be found by people who are looking to solve problems in their business. As a SaaS company with a digital product, our website is the crown jewel of the brand—a complex system serving a variety of needs for every department within the company.

Does this sound like a challenge you’d like to take on? We’re in search of a Web Product Manager who will understand the strategic value of our marketing engine and be ready to own its output, development, and maintenance. The person we’re looking for is collaborative, enjoys new challenges, and works in a time-conscious capacity.

Sitting on the Brand team within the Marketing Department, they will oversee a team of front- and back-end developers who understand our website as a product of its own. Our Web Product Manager will bring additive and positive energy to the mix and should be ready to speak up when they see issues that need to be addressed. If you haven’t guessed it by now, the biggest prerequisite here is attitude, even in moments of conflict and disagreement.

In this role, you will need to jump at challenges, big and small, and gain quick understanding of the scope of the problem at hand. If developing familiarity, proficiency, and (maybe) mastery in different skills you may be lacking sounds like an exciting opportunity, apply now! You might be the next key to continuing our collective growth at CompanyCam.

You must...

  • Be proficient in HTML and SCSS.
  • Bring experience in WordPress.
  • Have working knowledge of Javascript, Gulp, Twig, & GitHub
  • Have some years in the experience bank—we’re talking about at least 3-5 years. If you have less experience, but great knowledge and work to show, let’s talk.
  • Have top-notch organizational and collaboration skills—you’ll be coordinating with different teams, partners, and campaigns.
  • Possess a desire to dig into our market. You may not have a deep understanding of contractors and the problems they face, but you have a plan to develop that.
  • Have a knack for collaboration. Playing well with others is key, and experience working cross-departmentally is a must.
  • Show up every day, taking the courage to do the difficult but necessary stuff.
  • Grow up constantly: You're OK working in an environment full of change. You take responsibility, love ownership, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
  • Do good by treating your co-workers and customers the way you would like to be treated.
  • Be a current, permanent U.S. residence. Sorry, we're not hiring outside the U.S. at this time even if you’re willing to work U.S. hours.

It'd be nice if you...

  • Have SaaS experience—double bonus.
  • UX/UI certification.
  • Experience with SEMRush.
  • Are familiar with any and all of our most-used tools (Slack, Zoom, Google docs, and Intercom).
  • Live in Lincoln, NE or surrounding metro area.
