Workplace Accommodations Specialist
Summary
The Workplace Accommodations Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and supporting processes for providing workplace accommodations for Ryder employees. This individual will coordinate and facilitate best practice reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended (ADAAA), Federal and State laws and Ryder applicable policies.
The Workplace Accommodations Specialist will perform a variety of both routine and complex administrative and professional work. Serve as a subject matter expert on the accommodations process as well as State and Federal disability and accommodation laws.

Essential Functions
- Perform case management and coordinate the accommodation process for short and long term accommodations for employees at work or returning to work from a medical leave of absence; and for those seeking a religious accommodation. Assess risk, resolve issues, and escalate cases as appropriate
- Coordinate efforts with and provide guidance to employees, HRBP, managers, etc. to develop and provide employees with effective and reasonable accommodations, including transitional work assignments.
- Communicate and document the transition work assignment plan, accommodation, or inability to accommodate to all appropriate parties.
- Provide guidance and educate employees, managers and HR on complex aspects of return to work accommodations and case management processes.
- Maintain information/documentation in case management system to track and ensure accurate and timely case management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned, including participating in other activities, projects and growth initiatives within the Compliance or Employee Services area.

- Knowledge of Federal and State HR regulations, especially as related to ADA and religious accommodations and leaves of absences advanced required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday and/or Service Now is a plus intermediate required
- Experience working in case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.) intermediate preferred
Qualifications
- Associate's degree required Human Resources Management or related discipline
- Bachelor's degree preferred Human Resources Management or related discipline
- Three (3) years or more HR generalist or HR compliance role (e.g. ADA and leave of absence) required
- Three (3) years or more experience in interpreting and ensuring human resources regulatory compliance required
- One (1) year or more experience in high volume, complex case management required
- Three (3) years or more knowledge and understanding of disability management; return-to-work strategies; religious accommodation laws and related HR compliance regulations required
- Knowledge of Federal and State HR regulations, especially as related to ADA and religious accommodations and leaves of absences advanced required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday and/or Service Now is a plus intermediate required
- Experience working in case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.) intermediate preferred
- Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) or other HR certification

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market
data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or
certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $55K to $63K
