Location

Remote, with potential nationwide travel and disaster deployment responsibilities. Relocation to Washington, D.C., may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide range of design development, technical editing, and word processing, including graphics, websites, and spreadsheets.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong verbal, listening, writing, and intrapersonal skills for effective communication and coordination.
  • Industry certification(s) such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), Technical Writer Certification (TWC), Certified Technical Writer (CTW), and/or Adobe Certified Professional in Technical Communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of emergency management, acquisition and grants management, disaster recovery, business process improvement, finance, and/or economics experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Chambers of Commerce financial institutions, lending agencies, non-profit groups, and government agencies.
  • Experience developing policies, plans, and procedures for federal government agencies or organizations of comparable size and score (nationwide operations).
  • Experience leading strategic planning sessions, workshops, and meetings for cross functional teams.
  • Experience producing diversity, equity, and inclusion products and initiatives.

Required Skills & Strengths

  • Exceptional writing skills: ability to write clear, concise, and strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style. Versatility in writing for different formats and audiences.
  • Editing and Proofreading: keen eye for detail and accuracy, proficiency in editing for grammar, style, tone, and consistency, and ability to provide constructive feedback to other writers.
