The base salary range for this role is $116,000 to $210,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; ranges will change based on country of residence.

Overview 

As a Software Engineer III - Test at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will join our dynamic tools and frameworks team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping our engineering strategies. Your responsibilities will include defining, implementing, and providing training on new processes, and building advanced automation tools and frameworks. This role demands a high level of technical expertise and leadership, as it encompasses the entire spectrum of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, ensuring the robustness and quality of all our platforms and products.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a world-class automation infrastructure for test automation and CI/CD.
  • Spearhead test automation and infrastructure development, testing new designs and architectural choices with significant impact on our systems, business, and customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers and QA Automation Engineers to develop scalable, robust automation frameworks & tools for web, mobile, API, and performance testing.
  • Work alongside highly passionate team members who prioritize customer satisfaction, aiming to enhance customer productivity for complex workflows.
  • Forge strong relationships across various teams within Engineering, gathering and presenting testing metrics and activities.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance within the Quality Engineering team.
  • Be willing to travel occasionally for events and meetings at various Bet Fanatics offices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant field with a strong technical background.
  • Strong skills in Python and/or Java, with experience in automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices.
  • Expertise in building, supporting, maintaining, and scaling automation in a CI/CD environment.
  • Proven track record in leading projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth understanding of test infrastructure and pipeline.
  • Proficient in Git, Unix/Linux, Docker, and at least one modern testing framework (like PyTest), with familiarity in other common web and mobile testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of best practices & methodologies for Testing, Automation, and DevOps.
  • Demonstrated capability to work closely with the engineering team, implementing appropriate tools and practices that balance quality with productivity.
  • Highly outcome-oriented, data-driven, and capable of dealing with ambiguous/undefined problems.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Positive, flexible attitude, and a willingness to embrace new initiatives.
  • Previous experience in the betting and gaming industry is advantageous but not required.
