At Fanatics Collectibles, we are seeking a Product Manager who is versed in the art and science of building "data as product”. Ideal candidates have both strong technical backgrounds (in AI, Data Science, and Data Engineering)and product management skills. This Product Manager will need to navigate the intersection of complex data systems and product strategy to deliver innovative solutions for both internal business stakeholders and for AI products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the ideation, development, and enhancement of data products, such as APIs, data platforms, and self-service analytics and reporting tools, with the aim of delivering actionable insights to drive decision-making across internal business functions.
- Craft an integrated, forward-looking product roadmap that leverages modern data technologies and machine learning maintenance within the cloud, all while treating data as a standalone, valuable product.
- Translate multifaceted customer needs into clear and actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and technical tasks, capturing the essence of data as a product for data science and engineering teams to execute.
- Propel the strategic direction for our data platforms, ensuring they align with the overarching goals of the organization and resonate with the aspirations of our collectors and hobbyists.
- Set and enforce stringent data integrity, governance, and self-service standards, fostering a culture of excellence in data management practices and treating data as a core product offering.
- Manage complex, cross-functional stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating product goals and balancing business requirements with technical capabilities.
- Champion a data-centric corporate culture, emphasizing data as a product, and lead by example in embracing continuous improvement and a keen focus on user experience to refine product offerings.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years in a data product management role, with a strong track record of developing data as a product that informs business decisions and powers AI algorithms.
- Comfort with common data programming languages such as Python and SQL, with a demonstrable capacity to harness these tools to craft data products that drive both business intelligence and AI innovation.
- Experience working with data engineers in orchestrating complex data systems, with a particular focus on enhancing data quality and governance within cloud-based ecosystems.
- Ability to harmonize stakeholder needs, achieving consensus and propelling product visions through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Agile project management capabilities, with an aptitude for defining and prioritizing product features and roadmaps from inception to deployment.
- Intellectual curiosity, with the tenacity to probe deeply into problems, ask challenging questions, and convert business requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related discipline
- Exceptional communication skills, adept at bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations, and delivering user-centric product features.
- A passion for sports trading cards and the collectibles industry a plus
$160,000 - $200,000 a year
The salary range for this position is $160,000-$200,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
